Berets are Back!
Berets are Back!
Beret's aren't just for the Parisians anymore due to a re-surge of this unique hat style coming back into fashion. I love how you can wear it with just about anything to give either a preppy yet feminine look with a classic wool cap, or a knit cap which looks a bit more slouchy and artsy. Depending on your mood, this hat takes your look to a whole new level.

There's Always Room for Negotiation...
There's Always Room for Negotiation...
well at least in the cheap part of the NYC Fashion District. Here's what I mean when I say that there's always room for negotiation. You know those cheap stores that don't really have sku's or fancy cash registers? It is those kind of stores that you may sometimes (if you're lucky) get some money knocked off the original price. Don't get me wrong, you're not going to find Gucci or Chanel, but if have any eye for fashion you can definitely find a few stand out items.
Here's how I know this. Yesterday when I was shopping around the 30's on 6th Ave, I happened to pass by a store selling some pretty cute shoes. I tried a few pairs on, and after staring at myself in the mirror for a few minutes, I realized the sales girl watching me. As I took the shoes off and back into the box, I tried a little tactic. I said "I like them, but I'm going to think about it". I had tried two pairs on, and she probably knew I wanted both, and as I was putting them away she said, "well if you change your mind, I'll knock $10 off of each!". Can you believe that? I cooly replied, "oh reeeallly?" I took down her name, told her mine, and went back today and bought both pairs!

Be Your Own Fashion Editor

If you ever wanted to put together your own fashion looks with the ease of your own computer and the click of your mouse, then check out this great site I just found: www.polyvore.com Not quite sure where the name comes from, but I just happened to stumble across it during my daily fashion researching (which is a daily routine for me).
Created by a bunch of ex staffers from Google, Yahoo, and E-bay, this unique site lets you create looks by simply viewing millions of images of clothing, shoes, jewelry, bags, you name it, and simply dragging all of the images together to creat a "look". People can then view and comment your fashion choices. It's kind of your own way of expressing yourself through fashion, but online!
